Wow. And here I thought most homosexual fiction was probably poignant and sad, reflecting upon the misshapen stereotypes of modern society, prejudice, and injustice.

I mean, I'm a Christian and have religiously-motivated views toward homosexuality, but I also know that the homosexual community is picked on rather unfairly at times, especially by my less savory "brethren."

Still, my opposition to Jesus-as-love-interest has more than one motive. Did you know, most Christian-produced movies about the life of Jesus have given him a little emotional thing with one of the Marys (Magdalene some places, sister of Lazarus others), but it always comes across as very . . . dumb. Unrealistic. And those people/women actually existed. So if someone tried to pair Jesus with an original character (even a one-sided pairing) . . . it would just ring SO incredibly false and ruin the story's plausibility for me.

Of course, most Real People + Original Character stories do that for me.

Like this one intermediate-level book I read about a kid who met an elven princess, and the elf said that Yes, Tolkien visited her world and that's how he came up with his Middle Earth.

Things like that drive me insane, as a writer and a reader.
