As you may have noticed, I took a rather unexpected hiatus here. It was never my intention to just up and walk away from this blog, but somehow I did that. My deepest apologies for that.
I am pleased to announce that the “funk” that I’ve been in these past few months seems to be gone and that there is still life here at The Symposium.
I hope to be able to get a few reviews that I’ve had sitting on my hard drive for the past couple of months published, as well as the ones sitting in draft mode as well.
Currently I have a rather perplexing, not to mention vexing, issue at hand with the blog’s current layout. Specifically the navigation. On the main page and on posts where the comment form is still open, the navigation is right where it should be. Awesome! But once the comment form closes, well, then my navigation decides it would be more comfortable below the content. Not cool. It’s like I’m playing “Red Light, Green Light” with my layout. Some of the “fixes” that I attempted actually reversed the problem. I’ve tried all sorts of things but nothing seems to be working and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out just what is causing this.
The only one true way I’ve found to keep this from happening is to keep my comments open indefinitely. And let me tell you, the amount of spam that a blog with years worth of posts, will all comment forms open, receives is simply astounding.
I haven’t given up yet, still trying to pin the problem down and I’ve even enlisted some help to do it too! I might very well have to switch to one of the past themes though. Which would be a shame since I do like this one.
But we’ll see.

Well now, that’s certainly an odd problem! I’d never noticed, but then I haven’t really looked at the past posts that might have closed comments forms. LOL
Glad to see you back!
Charity,
Indeed, it took me a while to catch onto it as well. In fact, I only caught it when I had to glance over an older review to refresh my memory on the events of that book since I was (at the time) reviewing a new book in that series.
The glitch has been there since I first found it a couple of months ago, but I still haven’t worked it out yet. Here’s hoping I get it fixed soon though!
