I haven’t been able to get much reading done in the past few months, reading that didn’t include following online novels, fanfiction, or required reading that is. In order to get me out of the funk and to hopefully make a dent in my TBR pile, I’ve been hunting for a few good reading challenges.

The What’s in a Name challenge is a fun sounding challenge that asks the participants to pick a book whose title fits one of the chosen themes. There are six themes in total: Profession, Time of Day, Relative, Body Part, Building, and Medical Condition. You don’t have to declare your books right away, which is good, because some of these are stumping me. Raiding my TBR pile as given me a few books to start this challenge off:

  • Profession: Butcher by Gary C. King (finished: 09/13/2009)
  • Time of Day: Midnight Alley by Rachel Caine
  • Relative: My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult
  • Body Part: Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand by Carrie Vaughn (finished: 05/22/2009)
  • Building: The Bar Code Tattoo by Suzanne Weyn (finished: 03/17/2009)
  • Medical Condition: Cult Insanity by Irene Spencer (finished: 08/28/2009)

I’ll be updating this post as I complete each book, as well as when I publish a review for said book, and when I come up for books for the other themes. The challenge begins January 1, 2009 and runs through December 31, 2009. As you can, I’ve got a late start on it. Wish me luck!
